If you've been here since the beginning of this blog, you might remember that I raved over my Clarisonic Mia 2 . It took me an age to work my way up to purchasing one because the price tag seemed so steep for a cleansing brush, but it really transformed my skincare routine. Imagine my joy when Clarisonic contacted me about reviewing their Deep Pore Cleansing System here.
It's very similar to the setup I already had, in the sense that the most important part of the system is the Clarisonic brush itself. I was given another Mia 2 as part of the full set, but it also came with a Deep Pore brush head, facial cleanser, and detoxifying clay mask. If you already have a Clarisonic brush, there's no need to buy another one since you can pick up the Deep Pore brush heads, cleanser, and clay mask individually.
Depending on the time of year I have combination/dry skin, so I found this set to be too harsh for everyday use. When I first got it, I experimented with using the brush head and cleanser in the mornings before work and started breaking out by the end of the week. What worked really well for me was using the full system every Sunday night to really clean out my pores and get my skin feeling extra clean. I dedicate my Sunday nights to self-care and Netlix, so it felt like a great way to get ready for the start of a new week.
I also love having it in my skincare arsenal for the night after big events. I don't know about you, but if I've been out late for a holiday or party I never feel like I've gotten all the makeup and sweat out of my pores until I've had a little quality time with my Clarisonic. After they ran out I didn't end up repurchasing the cleanser or clay mask since I have ones that I feel work better, but the Deep Pore brush head is now the MVP of my post-party routine and I've gone through 2 or 3 replacements in the past year.
Overall, I think this set would be ideal for someone who doesn't already have a Clarisonic brush or who wears heavy makeup on a regular basis. It's a definite miracle worker when it comes to removing foundation, but if you worship at the altar of BB Creams and tinted moisturizers, I can't see this being the cleansing system for you.
