I met up with a friend for coffee a few days ago. We don't live particularly close to each other, so we decided to meet in Frederick, Maryland since it's about halfway between us. Neither of us had spent much time in Frederick, but I really liked the little of it I saw last time, so exploring the tiny town seemed like a great way to spend the afternoon.
It was a little chilly, so I decided to wear my favorite camel coat from Topshop. It comes in petite sizes and has a lovely cropped sleeve that lets the layers you're wearing underneath peek out, so it's one of my favorite light coats for spring. This color has been everywhere lately and I love how versatile it is! I really enjoy pairing it with an all-black look, but since warmer weather is almost here I decided to try jeans and an olive green boot instead. I know the Stuart Weitzman boots are a splurge purchase, so I've linked some more affordable alternatives below. Let me know if you ever want to see an in-depth review of them!
There are so many cute clothing stores downtown! After we grabbed coffee, my hands were too full for photos, but they were all so charmingly decorated and carried everything from the latest Free People dresses to local jewelry and indie brands I'd never heard of. This one even opened in October! I'm definitely going to have to head back and go through them more carefully when I have more time.
There are also a few cute bridges and a short walking path along the canal. We took many, many more photos but I'll spare you the rest. You can't trust either of us near a cool wall or ducks to be honest.
After lunch, we both really wanted to get some exercise. Luckily, Gambrill State Park is only a short drive away from the downtown area. I wasn't exactly dressed to go hiking, but we stuck to the short loops and I just jumped far, far out of the way of any puddles.
Do you like hiking in the winter? What colors have you been wearing to transition into spring?
